










KAWA NO JI
2012
KAWA no ji is part installation part memorial. A reminder of of the tragedy of tohoku, JAPAn in 2011 but also a celebration of life, both taken and who are still with us. The installation is characterized by three broad strokes. In japanese kanji it means river. these strokes also represent the family unit father, child, mother “kawa no ji”. The installations uses washi which re-inforces the idea of the fragility of life, but also the strength of the human spirit through tragic times.
